After fueling for your day with Rwanda’s finest coffee/tea, you will be picked by our driver guide at 7am, you will be picked by our professional drive guide and head to Genocide memorial. Rwanda’s painful past has haunted the country for years; however, their impressive recovery story has turned them into an inspiration. The Kigali Genocide Memorial is the final resting place for more than 250,000 victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. It honors the memory of the more than one million Rwandans killed in 1994. The memorial also serves to educate about genocide and peace -building around the world. After here, you will proceed with Kimironko market. The colorful Kimironko Market is housed in a large warehouse complex, with four equidistant entrances. Outside the main market, you will find from meat and fish to sunglasses and household items. Once you get inside the structure, you will find fruit and vegetable stands extending in every direction. You can also get shoes, kitchen utensils, Kitenge fabrics and crafts at Kimironko market.

Later after leisure lunch at hotel de Mille Collines, you will drive to Volcanoes National Park. For meals and accommodation at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (middle-range) or 5 volcanoes Boutique Hotel (luxury)

Volcanoes National Park lies in northwestern Rwanda and borders Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. The national park is known as a haven for the rare and endangered mountain gorilla and golden monkeys. It is home to five of the eight volcanoes of the Virunga Mountains (Karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo), and spans 160 km2 covered in rainforest and bamboo. The park was the base for the zoologist Dian Fossey.

After an early breakfast, we will drive to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters to be allocated a gorilla tracking group at 7am. You will get a briefing by your trackers, and then you start the amazing adventure of Gorilla trekking.

The tracking / trekking can entail some thorough climbing as well as hiking although when you come face to face with the tranquil yet potent Mountain Gorillas, watching them only a few meters away from you observing the group, the baby with the mothers, the gorillas partaking their everyday routine just right in front of you is all very overwhelming experience.

You will be picked up by our driver guide at 6:30 am, for your drive to the park headquarter for the briefing then you will go for golden monkey trekking. The Golden Monkeys are beautiful to look at with their various colors, including long golden hair, orange mixed into it along with its black. After trekking, you will head for lunch and later return to Kigali before 5 pm.
